We love to discover new talent to help us work on exciting projects! Habesha Media is always looking to expand its database of creative professionals with freelancers in areas such as graphic design, illustration, editorial design, audiovisual content production and more.
WHAT
IT IS?
At Habesha Media, we highly value the diversity of creative talent, and because of this we seek to reinforce our principles of solidarity and intercultural dialogue through paid collaborations with freelance creative professionals of different backgrounds and unique skills. That is our Roster. We strongly believe that this not only strengthens our own work and allows us to enrich our narratives with new perspectives, but also promotes valuable opportunities for other creatives.
We are not big fans of micromanagement and believe in the abilities of our collaborators, yet we do not leave them unsupported: our Roster members always work on projects alongside our in-house team and are, of course, fairly compensated for their work.

GENERAL
REQUIREMENTS
- Able to present a portfolio of your work
- Ability to issue official invoices
- Advanced knowledge of relevant software (depending on area, see specifics below)
- Creativity and out-of-the-box thinking
- Flexibility
- Efficient prioritization and organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Commitment to quality

Experience working with several of the following projects; Logo design, branding, posters, flyers, and others.
Software: Advanced level in at least one of the following Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects.
Desirable: Digital typography, Branding knowledge
Software: Advanced level in at least one of the following Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects.
Desirable: Digital typography, Branding knowledge
Editorial Design
Strong understanding of typography, layout, and color theory. Experience with digital and printed editorial projects.
Software: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator.
Desirable: Collaboration abilities, awareness, knowledge of photography
Illustration
Artistic (drawing) and visual storytelling abilities, creativity, design conceptualization.
Software: Adobe Photoshop. Adobe Illustrator.
Desirable: Procreate or other digital illustrator software experience in different art techniques

Audiovisual Production
Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Video production, photography, video editing and post-production (including advanced software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro).

Web Development
Experience with several of the following: HTML/CSS front-end development, responsive, web design, content management systems.
Software: WordPress.
Desirable: Search engine optimization (SEO), UX and UI design.

NOTE
If you are invited to our Roster, you will remain in the database for one year. Our team at Habesha Media would love for you to start working on a project straight away, but this depends on a variety of factors and our clients, so we cannot always promise an immediate start. Inclusion in the Roster does not constitute a contract of employment nor a guarantee of project availability as a collaborator.
