Habesha Media is the creative agency of Diálogo Intercultural Mexicano (DIME), which designs and develops high-quality, internationally recognized audiovisual products, as well as animation, web, editorial, and graphic design services. Habesha Media’s work aims to expand, inform, and engage audiences through new narratives on topics such as forced displacement, international migration, intercultural dialogue, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Unique in its field, Habesha Media places great emphasis on balancing the narratives we create through visual and audiovisual means. By recognizing the power of narrative in our work with clients, we seek to highlight positive solutions rather than condemn differences in opinion. It is evident that visuals and imagery are powerful tools in today’s world to amplify messages and increase their impact. Knowing this, and with years of experience from DIME, Habesha Media applies the principles of reflexivity and collaboration in our work to avoid reinforcing the “crisis mentality” and portraying people as passive victims. By focusing only on the challenges and hardships, it is easy to overlook the richness of the narratives left untold.
Instead, Habesha Media firmly believes that storytelling has the unique ability to unite diverse groups of people through shared values and experiences. To turn this potential into reality, our team draws on more than 60 years of combined experience in digital media and communication work, producing materials in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Arabic, French, and Portuguese, to reach a wide range of audiences. The materials and campaigns the team has worked on always aim to accurately portray the diversity and complexity of the topics covered while sharing easy-to-understand knowledge with the target audience.
Habesha Media’s services range from printed materials, digital and social media campaigns, traditional and interactive web documentaries, to editorial design, animation, infographics, capacity-building videos, courses, and other visual and audiovisual resources for traditional and digital media.
Both independently and as an integral component of DIME, Habesha Media has provided services to a number of high-level international actors working in various ways to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The agency has successfully delivered editorial design and audiovisual products and services, as well as digital campaigns, to clients such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Mexico, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) regional office in Costa Rica, the Refugee-led Research Centre at Oxford University, the University of San Diego, and others.
